"Ghost Gun Battle"

A spotlight on the concerns of so called "Ghost Guns" and 3-D printed guns prompted a federal judge in Seattle to stop Austin based Defense Distributed from uploading gun plans on the internet. This was in July of 2018.

Walt Maciborski's reports exposed an emerging threat to public safety. They’re called “Ghost Guns.” Homemade guns have been around for years. But now with new technology they’re easier than ever for anyone to make in the privacy of a garage. No background checks needed. They’re “Untraceable.” And these weapons have no serial numbers. Law enforcement says this is a dangerous trend. Walt's other "Untraceable" report was aired nationwide in 2017.
